Horror Movies

1. Insidious
2. Saw V
3. The Texas Chainsaw Massacre
4. The Last Exorcist
5. Paranormal Activity 2

A good horror story has suspense, surprises, twists, and an element of fear. Some techniques that the writers use are music, pop-ups, and sudden movements to scare the audience.

Lost

The writer reveals the differences in the characters by the different ways they talk and the different actions they do. Jack is a leader as he tries to help everyone and he tells that he is a doctor. Hurley seems like a laid back kind of person by his method of speaking. Kate is a strong person that overcomes her fear easily. Boone seems to be a person that likes to please others by the way he brought jack many different pens when he asked him for one.

Concept 24

I was completely surprised in the outcome of one of my soccer games. We had lost two players due to red cards in the first half. I was one. At the end of the first half we were down 2-0. Our players didnt give up and scored a goal in the first 5 minutes of the second half. The team continued battling until they tied the game and scored the go ahead goal in the last 5 minutes of play.

Concept 23

The story I want to write about is a story about a young person struggling with their daily life. The main character will want to solve the problems the he/she faces daily. The quest will never be fully successful but the character will win many little battles along the way.

Desperate Housewives

The three main characters are Mary, Lynette, and Gabrielle. They are introduced as if they were regular people living a regular life. The conflict seems to be the relationships between the housewives and their husbands. The writing is very modern. The characters use everyday language that is tweaked only a little bit to show the difference in characters.

Concept 22

The tv episode my group is writing is character driven because our whole story revolves around one character. The main character has to go through many different tribulations and without that main character there would be no story.

Pilot Reflection

Our characters are unique because they are complex and deal with multiple problems instead of just one main one. We can introduce them in a unique way by starting the pilot off directly into a problem. Our main character has to deal with problems at home with her family, problems at school with her friends and with academics. The main character has a multitude of problems that she has to deal with and solve.

My So Called Life

In My So Called Life it mainly focuses on high school students that are going through things that most high school students go through. We took this idea and decided to narrow it down to one main character. The story is entirely told in the first person and we only see the struggles that the main character goes through. The part of the show that didn't appeal to me was where they go over many peoples problems. Also, the dress style is a bit strange compared to modern day style. In my show we will modernize all of the aspects.

Concept 20

My main character would have a plethora of problems going on.
The main character would be a poor teenager struggling to fit in a school where the majority of the students are of middle to high class. The main character wants to be like his best friend who is of an affluent background.

Concept 19

I would have Joe tell the story. Joe would be a lot older and he would be telling the story to his grandkids. The backdrop would be the backyard of Joe's house and Joe and his grandchildren would be sitting in a chair.

Concept 18

Romeo and Juliet
Othello
Hamlet
Julius Ceasear
Macbeth

The most successful of these movies is Romeo and Juliet because the majority of people can relate to either one of the characters in the movie.

Concept 16

I'd like to write for a teenage audience. It will be easy for my audience to relate with my main character because my main character will also be a teenager having to deal with some of the more prominent things that teenagers today have to deal with. For example, my main character will have to deal with parents that are constantly on his back, friends that aren't really true friends, and classes that gets harder every day. The main character is just trying to move forward when there is an endless anount of roadblocks in his way. Many teenagers have to deal with problems like this and that is why I believe that my audience will be able to relate to my main character.

Concept 15

The theme of the movie that I would like to create would be that if you try hard enough, no matter what the odds are, you can be successful. I chose it because many people think that just because they are born into a bad situation, they won't be able to get out of it. I want people to change that mentality and truly believe that they can accomplish anything. The events in my story would support my story by showing the main character pitted in the worst of situations, but by persevering he is able to get out of them and come out on top.

Citizen Kane Non Linear Structure

I think that the non-linear structure of Citizen Kane made the movie much more interesting. The audience was kept wondering what the meaning of rosebud was throughout the whole movie. This helped because is was the driving force of the entire movie. If the movie would have been in a linear structure, the motif of rosebud wouldnt have been so significant. I do not agree with the statement that Citizen Kane is the greatest movie of all time. I agree that the camerawork in the movie was amazing and the plot was amazing too, but I don't think that it is deserving of the title the greatest movie of all time. It definitely could have been one of the best movie of that time but I believe there are better movies now.
